{"id":25675,"date":"2026-07-27T22:03:59","date_gmt":"2026-07-27T22:03:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thetwistzone.com\/?p=25675"},"modified":"2026-07-27T22:04:00","modified_gmt":"2026-07-27T22:04:00","slug":"8-year-old-central-texas-girl-hospitalized-after-shark-attack-on-galveston-beach","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thetwistzone.com\/?p=25675","title":{"rendered":"8-Year-Old Central Texas Girl Hospitalized After Shark Attack on Galveston Beach"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">An 8-year-old girl was left screaming in terror after a massive shark tore a chunk of flesh from her leg in a bl00dy attack at a Texas beach over the weekend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Little Harper Ochoa had been splashing in the shallow waters off Galveston on Saturday afternoon during a family vacation when she suddenly felt something clamp down on the back of her leg, her shocked mother told KWTX.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\" id=\"attachment_18472\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/pilgrimjournalist.b-cdn.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/download-39.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-18472\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Harper Ochoa, 8, was playing in the shallow waters when she felt something grab the back of her leg.(Courtesy of the Ochoa Family)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The child cried out for help and managed to shove the predator away as her frantic family rushed to pull her from the surf \u2014 only to be met with a gruesome sight: a deep, gaping wound just below her calf.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIt was just so much bl00d it was hard to tell what was going on,\u201d her mother, Christa, told the outlet, recalling that she initially believed her daughter had been stung by a stingray.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThen they were able to kind of get it to stop bleeding, the doctor was able to confirm that it looked like something from a shark.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\" id=\"attachment_18471\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/pilgrimjournalist.b-cdn.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/download-38.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-18471\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Her mother said it took 13 staples to close the gruesome wound where a chunk of flesh was missing from her daughter\u2019s calf. (10 KWTX)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Harper was rushed to the hospital, where doctors closed the wound with 13 staples.
