The problem is that plumbers say it doesn\u2019t really do what people think it does.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why your sink drains usually don\u2019t smell<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Every sink, shower, and bathtub has something called a P-trap hidden underneath. If you\u2019ve ever looked under a bathroom sink, you\u2019ve probably noticed the curved&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/viralstrange.com\/the-purpose-of-the-overflow-hole-in-your-sink-you-never-knew\/\">section of pipe<\/a>&nbsp;that forms a U shape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Advertisement<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That bend isn\u2019t there by accident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Its job is to hold a small amount of water after every use.
