He portrayed the United States as a country in serious trouble, accusing Trump of causing deep harm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the interview, the 82-year-old said the nation must be saved, using strong language to describe what he believes is happening. He labeled Trump an \u201cenemy of this country\u201d and urged Americans to unite in response.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">De Niro argued that removing one leader would not automatically solve the problem. Even if Trump were no longer in office, he warned, the broader political movement behind him would continue to shape the landscape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Host Nicole Wallace praised the actor for encouraging unity, which led to an emotional moment. Fighting back tears, De Niro stressed the importance of lifting people up and rejecting division.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Reflecting on today\u2019s political climate, the Taxi Driver star said he finds the current situation difficult to comprehend and believes citizens must actively defend democracy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Previously, in a video for Indivisible, he compared Trump to a monarch, referencing America\u2019s break from royal rule.
