In a nation torn over race, guns, and cops, one split-second choice ignites a firestorm that refuses to di\u2026&nbsp;<strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On a crowded stretch of I\u201175, Deputy Dean Bardes\u2019 traffic stop turned into a desperate fight for his life. Witnesses saw 53\u2011year\u2011old Edward Strother tackle the deputy, pin him to the asphalt, and rain down blows. Amid the chaos, 35\u2011year\u2011old concealed\u2011carry holder Ashad Russell stepped from his car, weapon in hand, facing a decision that would haunt him forever. Ordered by the deputy to fire and after shouting warnings that went unheeded, Russell shot Strother three times in the neck.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Investigators later ruled Russell\u2019s actions justified, closing the case with no charges.
