Even more amusing is a misspelling on the baseball tickets in the same episode<\/span>\u2014\u201dM<\/span>ayfield<\/span>\u201d\u00a0<\/span>was printed as<\/span>\u00a0\u201c<\/span>Mayfied<\/span>.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

In the earlier days of TV, special effects were far from advanced. In<\/span>\u00a0\u201c<\/span>The Silent Treatment,<\/span>\u201d\u00a0<\/span>there\u2019s<\/span>\u00a0a scene where Beaver paints a door, and a bee takes an interest in him.<\/span><\/p>\n

Rather than risk using\u00a0<\/span>a real<\/span>\u00a0bee,\u00a0<\/span>a fake one on a string was used<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span>If you look<\/span>\u00a0closely, you can see the string bouncing around near\u00a0<\/span>Beaver\u2019s<\/span>\u00a0face!<\/span><\/p>\n

Jerry Mathers, who played Beaver, became\u00a0<\/span>America\u2019s<\/span>\u00a0favorite kid brother. Now in his 70s, Mathers has often been asked if he was similar to Beaver off-screen.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cW<\/span>ell, I got in a lot less trouble,<\/span>\u201d\u00a0<\/span>he joked. He explained that with a crew of over 60 people on set, he always had someone to play football or baseball with during breaks. The cast and crew felt like an extended family.<\/span><\/p>\n
